Fenwick’s 2018 Spring Community Garage Sale will be held Fri & Sat, April 13 & 14 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Fall Community Garage Sale will be held Fri & Sat, October 12 & 13 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
You may hold your sale any time during those hours. You do not have to stay open from 8:00 to 5:00; you just can’t open any earlier or stay open any later.
The gated sections of Fenwick will have the gates open during these times to accommodate shoppers.
Each participating household is required to obtain a $7.00 permit from the city of Oklahoma City. Get your permit online here. You can print out an application and mail it in with a check, or purchase online with a credit card. (required if participating – maximum fine is $200!).
Fenwick Homeowner’s Association will promote the sale by advertising in the Edmond Sun, the Oklahoman, Craigslist, NextDoor and Facebook. We will place banners outside the neighborhood entrances the week prior to the sale.
NEW THIS YEAR! We are compiling a neighborhood map of all the sales in the neighborhood. If you let us know you’re having a sale (fill out the form below or call 405-290-8723!), we’ll add you to the map. Thursday before the sale, we’ll drop off maps at every address that has registered with us, so you can hand the maps out to shoppers. This will help people find their way around our neighborhood and increase our shopper traffic even more! *note: you are not required to let us know you’re having a sale, and your information will not be used for any other purpose. The maps will be printed and provided at no cost to you.
Questions or need help? Contact garage sale chair Emily Garman, 405-290-8723 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our recent hard freezes have caused part of our Fenwick ponds to freeze over. Lately, neighbors have reported seeing kids venturing out onto the ice.
PLEASE talk with your children about the dangers of playing on the ice, and tell them to stay away from the water when it’s cold.
Experts say when it’s 38 degrees F or colder outside, water can be deathly cold — literally. When temperatures are in the low double digits, like they have been lately, you have about 30 seconds after you fall in the water before you become unconscious.
The thickness of the ice can be deceiving. If you take a stick and poke it, you’ll see it’s often not even 1/2 inch thick. This is not strong enough to support even a small animal, much less a child or teenager.
Help keep your kids and pets safe this winter. Tell kids to stay away from the ponds and creeks, and don’t walk your pet near the water; they can run out onto the ice before you know it!
Oh yes, Santa loves to eat breakfast! Join your Fenwick HOA neighbors Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. for a come-and-go merry event with Santa and his elves at the Fenwick Clubhouse.
The morning includes breakfast items and snacks plus a couple of kid-friendly holiday craft projects. And, of course, Santa will be there to take pictures and hear what you want for Christmas! (Please bring your own camera or phone camera).
Fenwick (Main) HOA Dues – Due February 15, 2018 – Pay By Credit Card
2018 annual HOA dues for all three Fenwick areas and assessments for private streets and gates were invoiced accordingly to all accounts on Jan 1st, 2018 as outlined in annual notices sent last fall.
Statements will be sent out mid-Jan and the first due date for ALL sections is February 15th this year.
If you live in one of the private gated areas of Fenwick you are also required to pay extra dues to maintain your private streets and gates – this is in addition to everyone paying the main Association dues for mowing and landscaping of all common areas and entrances, maintaining and managing the pool and Clubhouse, changing out seasonal flowers at all entrances and many other projects to keep Fenwick beautiful.
ATTENTION: Separate checks are required! Please do not combine your main HOA dues with your Gated east or FGV dues. It’s also helpful if you do not staple or crease your checks.
Payment Options: You can drop checks off at the mailbox at the curb in front of the Clubhouse or pay by credit card using PayPal (buttons are updated on each community’s website; PayPal convenience fees apply).
Everyone owes $350 for the main Association due on or before Feb 15th, 2018. Detailed amounts and due dates for the private gated areas of Fenwick are provided below:
Fenwick Garden Village (FGV) 2018 dues are $500 (total) payable in full anytime but the following due dates apply:
$160 for a special street repair assessment due on or before Feb 15th, 2018
$340 annual dues assessment which is due on or before June 1st, 2018.
Fenwick Gated (east) 2018 dues are $350 payable in full anytime but the following due dates apply:
$175 on or before Feb 15th, 2018
$175 on or before July 1st, 2018
If you have any questions about your dues, please contact CCMS.
The next Board meeting will be held at the Clubhouse on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00pm. All members of the HOA are encouraged to come and participate.
The next Maintenance Committee meeting will be held at the Clubhouse on the 1st Monday of the month at 6:00pm. All members of the HOA are encouraged to come and participate.
2017 Annual Meeting and Notice of Assessment
The annual meeting for your Fenwick neighborhood Homeowners Association (HOA) will be held Tuesday, November 14, 7:00 p.m. at the West Field Elementary School cafeteria located at 17601 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in.
If you cannot attend the meeting, please complete the Proxy form that was mailed with the meeting announcement in October. Appoint someone attending to vote for you by proxy or you can leave that line blank and the Board will serve as your proxy. Drop off the proxy form in the clubhouse mailbox by 5 p.m. the day before the meeting.
The only vote scheduled is election of three board members, each for a three-year term. If you would like to be nominated please complete this form and drop it off in the clubhouse mailbox ASAP: http://wordpress.fenwickcommunity.org/wp-content/uploads/candidate_nominee_form.pdf
We need homeowners that care about our neighborhood and can dedicate some time to assist in a project, such as social events, maintenance issues, pool preparations, the Community Preservation Committee and more. These are things the management company does not handle. They’re all done by volunteer board members and committee members.
The Board of Directors will discuss what’s been done in 2017, its plans for 2018 and present the 2018 Budget. The full budget is posted on the clubhouse bulletin board now for your review.
Saddlecreek Pavilion Restored
The Saddlecreek Pavilion in northeast Fenwick has a new look! This covered, outdoor pavilion has been cleaned and painted, and the electrical outlets and nighttime lighting fixed. It’s ready for your next get-together or hangout!
With a concrete picnic table, this is the perfect location for a picnic lunch, small group gathering, barbecue/grilling party (BYOG – bring your own grill), or a walking rest stop. The pavilion is located at the end of the Fenwick walking trail at Saddlecreek Way. Fenwick residents are encouraged to check it out!
DID YOU KNOW – The pavilion is older than all of our homes. The land Fenwick sits on was previously an oil field, and the pavilion was built so the oil workers had a place to eat lunch.
Fenwick Pool Lap Swimming
Begins Tuesday, July 18 through Labor Day, Sept. 4.
Lap swimming is available from 6 to 8 a.m., every day except Monday when the pool is closed. (The pool will be closed from 8 to 10 a.m. for daily cleaning.)
You MUST request keycard access if you want to lap swim during these times. If you do not request access, your keycard will not open the pool gate except during regular pool hours. To request this special access, contact CCMS by e-mail at email@example.com, or call (leave a msg!) or text 405 410-4048. Please provide your current pool key-card # if convenient OR the last name under which your key-card is registered so this time zone can be easily added for your special pool access.
Clubhouse restrooms will NOT be available during lap swim times.
Lap swimming is for Fenwick residents, ages 16 and up only.
Please clean up after yourself and leave the pool area as you found it.
Depending on how many lap swimmers we have, we may or may not need to use the lane ropes. If we do use them, then after swimming, the lane ropes need to be removed from the pool and stored along the fence. If you are the last person swimming laps, please be responsible for taking out the lane ropes.
